The Ferrari California T, introduced in 2014, was an important evolution of Ferrari’s front-engined grand touring lineup and a major update to the original 2008 California. The “T” stands for “turbo,” marking Ferrari’s return to turbocharged engines for its road cars after decades of naturally aspirated V8s. Its new 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 delivered significantly more power, sharper response, and improved efficiency while retaining the California’s trademark everyday usability and retractable hardtop design. Along with performance gains, the California T featured refreshed styling inspired by classic Ferrari proportions and a more modern, luxurious interior. Positioned as an accessible yet authentic Ferrari GT, the California T played a key role in broadening the brand’s appeal before ultimately being succeeded by the more aggressive Portofino in 2017.
